Description Scapes 15-50cm tall. Leaves 3-7cm long, 3-11cm wide. Flowers 3 upper petals yellow spotted white, lower 2 white or pink (forma rosea) petals each 1.5-2cm long, flowering in April to May. Perennial plants.

Note Saxifraga nipponica 'Pink Pagoda' might be a synonym of Saxifraga nipponica Makino forma rosea Togashi et Satomi.
Saxifraga virginiensis Michaux (syn. Saxifraga vernalis Willdenow) is not a synonym of Saxifraga nipponica Makino.
